Your tongue is regarded as the most forgotten place to get cleaned. Having good tongue hygiene is extremely important for your health because if you don’t keep your tongue looking and feeling superb and vibrant, you’ll be able to lose tastes to your taste buds and also its sensation. The tongue is also necessary for chewing, eating and talking. Cleaning the tongue is beneficial to keep good oral care and protection.

Keep in mind that as you can get tongue related problems, like those wounds and map-like tongues, and this can be sore and may find eating unpleasurable so always make sure that you’ve got a clean and healthy tongue.

To know more about cleaning your tongue, below are some tips that you might find beneficial.

Brushing your tongue

Cleaning the tongue with a toothbrush is a good way to do it. You can just do this while cleaning up your teeth and all you should do is brush your tongue twice all over to obtain a good cleaned tongue. You don’t need to brush it hard. Although you may have a coated tongue but it will not help if you brush it too hard. After brushing rinsing your mouth is the final process and you will feel that healthy and fresh breath ever.

Cleaning with tongue scraper

Using a tongue scraper, you can do this initially at the farther backside all the way to front; try not to push it too hard to stop you from gagging. Using a tongue scraper helps remove that whitish/yellowishcolor at the exterior of your tongue which is often where harmful bacteria resides as well as other food particles that may lead to bad breath. You may repeat the scraping of your tongue up to the point that the white part is cleaned.

Rinse with mouthwash

Rinse off using water once you are done scraping your tongue and gargle with mouthwash afterwards. Mouthwash is one of the most effective ways to keep your tongue feeling healthy. Mouthwash sterilizes your tongue as well as your mouth and also provides you fresh breath!

Make it a habit of cleaning the tongue on a regular basis to prevent bad breath as well as additional tongue problems. Through regular cleaning, you may also learn to clean your tongue with no gagging. If perhaps you are in a struggle against bad breath then you may also want to clean the interior of your mouth as well as the top of your mouth to get free of different microorganisms and food particles hidden on them. Bear in mind that cleaning the tongue could not only find remedies for your bad breath dilemma but it can also help in fighting with other problems as well.

Oral hygiene is in fact the practice of keeping the mouth and teeth clean to help prevent bad breath and even dental problems and cleaning the tongue is one of necessary method in maintaining dental health.

It is always important to practice good oral hygiene. Our mouth has three areas of concern and they are: the tongue, gums, and teeth. To minimize the problem of bacteria build up, brushing your teeth, cleaning your gums, and flossing followed by rinsing thoroughly can help.

Why we need teeth cleaning?

Teeth cleaning or teeth brushing is the elimination of unwanted tartar and dental plaque from teeth to prevent gum disease such as gingivitis and cavities. One-third of tooth loss by adult is due to severe gum diseases and even though how good our teeth are, it is useless if we are suffering from gum problems.

Dental professionals recommended that our teeth must be cleaned (by dental hygienist) at least every 6 months. This cleaning includes tooth polishing and tooth scaling, while debridement is necessary if too much tartar has built up then fluoride treatment follows.

To prevent tartar accumulation, good oral hygiene is very important between cleanings. We can do this by brushing our teeth frequently as well as using dental floss to prevent build-up of plaque on the teeth.

What is Plaque? Plaque is no other than a yellow sticky coating that build-up on the teeth and gums. What happen is that the bacteria in plaque release acid and that acid attacks tooth enamel. Repeated attacks can cause tooth decay. Plaque bacteria are usually cause by some food we eat.

Plaque is also the culprit of irritation to the gums and making them tender, red, or bleed easily. In several cases, the gums pull away from the teeth in several cases, leaving spaces inhabited by pus and bacteria.

How important is flossing? One of the most important aspects of oral hygiene is the use of dental floss, because it removes the decaying food remaining and plaque that stuck between the teeth. If this food decay and plaque are not removed properly it causes irritation to the gums, thus allowing the gum tissue to bleed more easily. Proper dental flossing is recommended at least once a day and preferably before bedtime. This way it helps prevent gum disease, receding gums, and cavities forming between the teeth.

The importance of tongue cleaning

Cleaning the tongue is essential part of daily oral hygiene, since it eliminates the whitish/yellowish coating of bacteria that cause bad breath, fungi, decaying food particles, and dead cells from the dorsal area of the tongue. Cleaning the tongue also helps protect the teeth because it also removes bacteria species which cause tooth decay and some gum problems.

How to care gums?

Massaging our gums using toothbrush bristles and using dental floss is recommended for good oral health. Using these methods eliminate bacteria build-up that causes oral health problems.

Oral irrigation is also recommended for cleaning teeth and gums. Oral irrigators reach up to 4 mm under the gum line. To disrupt plaque and bacteria, they use a pressured, directed stream of water.

The role of food and drink

The role of foods in our well-being is cannot be discounted, not only food helps muscles and bones but also help gums and teeth. Vitamin B from breads and cereals and vitamin C from fruits and vegetables contribute both to healthy gum tissue.

These above-mentioned factors especially cleaning the tongue help remove the build-up of decayed food material, the primary breeding ground for bacteria and reduce plaque as well. Periodontal disease that cause by plaque can also lead to heart disease. This is the reason why we need to maintain good oral hygiene and you can start it here, now!

Diabetes and bad breath are often related to each other and it is no longer a myth. Medical researches show that these two conditions have relation to each other. Uncontrolled blood sugar increases the risk of unpleasant breath since high blood sugar levels make any gum diseases worse, the usual cause of stinky breath.

How these two conditions relate to each other

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a definitely a life-threatening and is a very serious disease. Ketoacidosis is generally seen in persons suffering from type 1 diabetes. This complication occurs when the body is unable to use sugar (glucose) as a fuel source because the patients do not produce enough insulin, and because of that the fat is used instead. Ketones build up in the body and this is the byproducts of fat breakdown. Type 1 diabetes is the one that occurs usually at childhood.

These acidic ketones make the blood acidic in nature. Our body has natural way of getting rid of these ketones through urine or through breath and it causes bad breath. This is the truth how diabetes and bad breath are related to each other.

There are lots of ways to get rid of bad breath caused by diabetes but proper oral hygiene is the most effective.

How to Avoid Halitosis Caused by Diabetes:

* You can get rid of halitosis by controlling your blood glucose levels.

* Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Cleaning the tongue is effective too for removing the biofilm coating your tongue where bacteria reside. Use germ-fighting toothpaste and flossing is recommended to remove food particles lodged between teeth. If you are a denture wearer you should remove dentures nightly and clean them before placing in the mouth.

* Drink plenty of water is another key to halitosis treatment. Balance water intake creates a moist environment and enhances saliva production in the mouth thus reducing bad breath. Diabetics always have dry mouths and this allow food particles and bacteria to remain on the mouth.

* Chewing sugarless gum or sucking sugarless candy helps production of saliva like water and it helps getting rid of halitosis caused by diabetes.

* Use a mouthwash which does not contain alcohol in it, alcohol tends to dry the skin and even the mouth.

* Avoid caffeine because it is a diuretic and it causes mouth dryness.

Visiting your oral hygienists or dentists is recommended at least twice a year. They can give you advices on how to fight bad breath caused by diabetes. Diabetes causing unpleasant breath can be avoided if you follow the above-mentioned tips. This is a serious thing you must consider so act now!

March 8 is the International Women’s Day and here is something to give tribute to them.

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter.

‘Don’t forg…et your sisters,’ she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. ‘They’ll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them.’

‘Remember that ‘sisters’ means ALL the women…your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives too. ‘You’ll need other women. Women always do.’

What a funny piece of advice!’ the young woman thought. Haven’t I just gotten married? Haven’t I just joined the couple-world? I’m now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!’

But she listened to her mother. She kept contact with her sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her mother really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world, here is what I’ve learned:
THIS SAYS IT ALL:
Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don’t do what they’re supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favours.
Careers end.

BUT………

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley’s rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley’s end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you….Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family: all bless our life!

The world wouldn’t be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.

If you are interested about this subject, perhaps you or your family are affected by diabetes. The diabetes chart (glucose levels chart) is important in keeping track of your sugar levels that’s why it is essential that you simply get this and know how to fill this out. Some doctors used diabetes ppt to clarify the chart.

What is diabetes chart?

With a blood glucose chart, you can see numerous blanks representing various times of day. Each time the individual takes a reading, the result is observed within the chart and the goal would be to shift throughout the day in response to time of day, physical exercise, and meal planning. Thanks for electronic blood glucose monitoring, it does the tracking and can pass on information of your diabetes level to your blood sugar chart at the end of the day making it easy to evaluate.

Because of this chart, the patient can now determine great and poor results in terms of handling diabetes, and make changes on your lifestyle to hit more appropriate blood sugar levels. If there’s a big change either it shows continuously high or severely low ranges your doctor may also evaluate the chart and talk about specific concerns.

What is Pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes means?

Pre-diabetes means you are slowly acquiring diabetes. Pre-diabetes begins when your system is beginning to lose control of your blood sugar levels. Before it is known as borderline diabetes or IGT (impaired glucose tolerance). If you are not conscious that you are having pre-diabetes, you are at a high risk of developing to full-blown diabetes.

However, Type II diabetes does not just suddenly occurs like a bolt of lightning. It requires 10 to 20 years for most patients to progress from becoming regular to being a diabetic, and also the sad truth is most of them doesn’t know that this is happening.

What is the normal blood sugar level?

For individuals with no indicators of diabetes the blood glucose level is around 80-90 mg/dL prior to meals and based on the food they had it may rise up to 120 mg/dL or just a little more right after they eat. Management of diabetes is now easier for patients with electronic diabetes chart software program. It permits diabetic to be on their daily living with nominal disruption.

Current research established that males are much more susceptible to diabetes-related problems than women. Considered to be a ‘man produced disease’, these days diabetes is one of the primary factors after much graver health problems associated with kidney, heart and also eye-sight. Are you aware about the signs of diabetes in men? Otherwise, you better read the whole article to find out. Diabetes is not a contagious disease, similar to a cold or influenza. You cannot “catch” it from somebody else, and no one can catch it from you. Diabetes is a long term illness.

Listed Below Are the Typical Indicators of Diabetes in Males
• Polyuria (frequent urination) is presumably the most aggravating manifestation that affects a diabetic.
• Polydipsia growing one’s thirst drastically and leaving one feeling dry all of the time is cause by loss of fluid or dehydration from the body.
• Polyphagia will be the feeling of overly hungry all the time and one of the signs of diabetes in men.
• Unexplained sudden weight reduction or weight gain is also another indication of diabetes.
• Increased fatigue and/or exhaustion.
• Poor or blurred vision is an evident sign of diabetes.
• One may also endure from tingling or burning sensation in arms, hands, legs, and feet.
• Diabetes is most likely to take its toll on one’s sexual life. Erectile dysfunction is much more typical in males 50 years or more.
• Skin infections are also widespread among males plagued by diabetes.
• Any person suffering from this disease is most likely to develop a weak immune system over the time.
• Some other usual signs and symptoms of diabetes that are most likely to show up in the early stages are poor appetite, viral illness and physical weakness.

According to the American Diabetic Association (ADA), around 17 million people in the United States currently have diabetes. That’s almost 8% of the population. Unfortunately, the ADA estimates much more than one third of those people are not aware they have the disease and might go untreated.

Untreated or uncontrolled, diabetes can cause blindness, comas, and kidney failure, nerve illness and amputations, heart illness, and/or stroke.

Amongst illnesses, diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death within the U.S. and may also contribute to much more deaths. So be aware of the signs of diabetes in men.

Don’t count yourself to the one-third of diabetic population that doesn’t know they are already suffering from this disease.

What is intrinsic motivation?

It means motivation that originates from inside a person rather than coming from any outside or external rewards, which include cash or grades.

The drive comes from the satisfaction one obtains from the particular task alone or through the sense of fulfillment in completing as well as doing an activity.

An intrinsically inspired individual will work on a mathematics formula, for example, as it would be enjoyable. And also an intrinsically driven person will work over a solution to a task since the challenge of getting a solution offers a feeling of pleasure. In neither situation will the individual work on the job as there are a number of incentives involved, like a reward, a fee, or when it comes to students, a grade.

Do they still want rewards?

Innate motivation does not necessarily mean, nevertheless, that a person won’t seek rewards. It simply signifies that such outside incentives are not really sufficient to keep an individual motivated. An intrinsically stimulated student, for instance, might want to obtain a good grade on a task, but if the task does not appeal to that student, the chance of a fantastic grade is just not enough to keep that student’s inspiration to set any effort to the project.

Theorist Malone and Lepper (1987) have described intrinsic motivation in more simple terms of what individuals can do without outside inducement. Intrinsically encouraging activities are the type in which people may participate for no compensation aside from the interest and satisfaction that is connected with them. These two theorists have included a great deal of research on inspirational theory into a functionality of approaches to design conditions which can be intrinsically motivating.

Getting what you want without expecting rewards is a great thing and can boost your self-esteem. Mastering intrinsic motivation will lead to reaching your goals. Hope you enjoy this article.

What is extrinsic Motivation?

Extrinsic motivation is the term for motivation that emanates from outside your own. The inspiring factors are outside, or external, rewards like cash or grades. These types of incentives offer satisfaction and delight that the particular task itself might not provide.

An extrinsically inspired individual works on a project even when they may have little affinity for it as a result of expected fulfillment they are going to get through some compensation. The reward is something as modest like a smiley face to something significant like recognition or fortune. For instance, an extrinsically motivated individual that dislikes numbers might strive on a mathematics formula because would like the prize for doing it. With regards to a student, the incentive has to be good grade for an assignment as well as in the class.

Is it a good drive?

External motivation does not necessarily mean, however, that the person won’t obtain any satisfaction from doing or finishing an activity. It simply implies that the satisfaction they assume from several external rewards will still be a motivator regardless if the job to be carried out contains minimum interest. An extrinsically enthusiastic student, for instance, may detest a project, could find it uninteresting, or might have no interest within the subject, yet the potential for an excellent grade will probably be enough to hold a student motivated to ensure them to set on the effort to perform effectively on the activity.

External motivation is once you are stimulated by outside factors, rather than the inner drivers of innate motivation. Extrinsic determination drives you to accomplish things for real rewards or challenges, instead of the enjoyment of it.
